We spent a few evenings building an avatar maker and put it up at avatartarus.com. Twenty-two themes, close to a thousand parts, no signup, nothing to install — just open the page and start clicking.
Twenty-two themes, one engine
The interesting piece is under the hood. Every theme — robots, anime, monsters, animals, birds, sea creatures, fruits, vegetables, nature, weather, stone age, retro future, samurai, cyberpunk, steampunk, dragons, magic, angels, mythic India, ancient world, flowers, and children — shares one engine and one set of canonical slots, positioned against a shared coordinate contract so a part from any theme lands correctly on any other. That means an anime hairstyle sits correctly on a robot head, and a strawberry can wear steampunk goggles. Mix All opens every slot to all twenty-two themes at once; Custom Mix narrows that to just the themes you pick.
Building it this way took longer up front and rewards every new theme we add: the parts just work together.
Free to use, share codes included
Every avatar you make is a share code you can save, paste, or send. The code IS the avatar — no account, no database on our end for the public version. Refresh the page and it loads back from your browser. If you want to hand the code to someone else so they see the same face, that works too.
